Home-Grown National Security

By Guest Writer, Jim Lloyd

I was born a long, long time ago in the Western mountain region of Pennsylvania. Growing up in a town of 200 or so, everybody went hunting. There were families who never bought meat, but lived well. That being said, a blogger (and God bless most bloggers) recently added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states. Whether or not you agree with me here about hunting, stay with me for just a moment. There were over 600,000 licenses sold in Wisconsin this year. Over the last several months therefore, Wisconsin’s hunters became the 8th largest army in the world! More men under arms than Iran… more than France and Germany combined! These men deployed in the woods of a single American state fully armed and no one was killed. Furthermore, virtually no ammo was wasted with thoughtless firing into the air. (Are you listening Middle East?)

But I digress. These numbers pale in comparison to the 750,000 hunters who walked the woods of Pennsylvania this season, as well as Michigan’s 700,000, all of whom returned home unwounded and many of whom stocked their freezers with meat for their families instead of waiting in lines for food stamps or begging the current regime for help.(!!)

Finally, toss in the 250,000 hunters in West Virginia, and it literally establishes the fact that deer hunters in these 4 states alone comprise the largest and most disciplined army in the world at over 2,300,000 armed and ready souls who love America.

The point?

America will forever be safe from conventional foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown fire power. Hunting is not just a way to fill the freezer, it is a real matter of national security. That’s why all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC (hope your ears aren’t burning liberals) want to see us dis-armed. When this failure of a congress next attempts to talk gun control, shout, and shout loud… NEVER!!
