Florida BBQ Challenge in Lake Park
This Saturday, March 24th, in the Business District of Lake Park on Park Avenue, the Florida BBQ Challenge will get underway for the public at 11:00 a.m. and will last until 8:00 p.m. The event is free to the public. (Looks like Friday is team day and set up day for participants.) The competition itself will be held on Saturday.
The BBQ competition is the main attraction, but vendors will also be set up to sell their wares. A bounce house and other local entertainment will add to the festive atmosphere. There are numerous ways to get involved, from volunteering (students in need of volunteer hours can earn some here) to being a judge, a vendor or simply one of the many who will enjoy this fun event.
All information and forms necessary to compete in the BBQ Challenge or to be a vendor are available at the website listed on the flyer below. Vendors will be accepted on a first come/first served basis. Certain deadlines, rules and fees apply. The Sweets Foundation (a children’s charity) will be the recipient of a percentage of the proceeds of this event.
The Grand Champion (of BBQ) will walk away with $1,500 and a trophy.
Other prizes will also be awarded (see website). If you’ve got BBQ skills, this could be your opportunity to shine.
Sounds like good food and lots of fun!
