Spotlights in the Sky
The Lake Park Harbor Marina is a prime vista for capturing scenic moments and dramatic weather events, especially if you are George Tanguay. A few weeks ago the evening skies were playing host, nearly every night, to more of those intriguing and nearly silent lightning shows that sometimes continue on for as long as an hour or so. Here is a moment from one of those shows as seen across the bows and above the palms of the tranquil waters of Lake Park Harbor Marina.
A dramatic bolt seems to pierce the clouds as it strikes to the East of Lake Park beyond Singer Island
A few nights ago, fairly late, the skies lit up with some unbelievably intense bolts of lightning. At my house, they appeared as huge roving spotlights being aimed at the windows. Dramatic and daunting. George captured the moments of these intense strikes from the water’s edge of the marina as they made their way across the area.
Too close for comfort…and I see now why they appeared as giant spotlights! Look at the size of that bolt! Amazing to see it in stop-motion, captured on camera.
Thank you, George, for bringing us this intense show of lights from Lake Park’s water’s edge.
